A native of Chicago, Illinois, Elliott Sommerville is one of the emerging voices for this 21st century. His charismatic personality and innovative methods have been fruitful over the years. Since the early 90's Elliott has unmistakably felt the hand of destiny pushing him forward. In April of 1993 after the untimely demise of both friend and mentor Jim Hayes, IV, due to AIDS, Elliott became passionately concerned about individuals living with the struggle of HIV/AIDS.
In 1997 Elliott launched a personal campaign to assist in the war being waged against HIV/AIDS in both the Chicago and Atlanta metropolitan areas. Using the God-given tools of compassion, coupled with a heart for these persons, he became a team coordinator for the AIDS WALK of CHICAGO and a yearly volunteer for AID ATLANTA. In 2004 Elliott became one of the nationally recognized faces for the P.A.U.S.E. Campaign (Promoting Awareness Using Safer Sex Education). **Link Provided.**
Elliott, seeking avenues of greater involvement with activism formed the Always Beautiful Organization, the official home of one of Atlanta’s premiere LGBT events; Cocktails & Conversation. This event has been a part of Atlanta’s LGBT community since 2002. What they do and who they are can be summed up into one word; “Renaissance”. Their goal is to impact the LGBT community with Truth and Awareness in a “Grown-up and Sexy” kind of way.
Cocktails & Conversation offers an Urban, Neo-Soul experience that is rich, relaxed & refined. This is a platform for the SGL community’s Poets, Lyricists and Musical artists to come and share their creative talents in an atmosphere of acceptance and appreciation.
Lyrical artists, Motivational Speaker, Stage Personality, Comedian and Activists all describe Elliott Sommerville. However, he experiences his greatest joy in being the proud father of daughter, Carina Nicole Tatyana and the grandfather of grandson Brian Christopher Elliott.
